Likeypoo is a location-based dating app for adults 18 and over. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used. We collect only what we need to run the service.
When you sign up, we collect your email address, phone number (verified via SMS), username, display name, date of birth, gender, who you're interested in, and an optional bio. This information is stored in Firebase Authentication and Firestore and is used to create and operate your account, verify that you are 18 or older, and show you to other users.
Photos you upload to your profile are stored in Firebase Storage and shown to other Likeypoo users as part of your profile. You can remove photos at any time from within the app.
Likeypoo is a location-based service, so we need an approximate idea of where you are in order to show you matches in your area.
If you grant location access, we use your device's location (via Apple's Core Location) to determine your approximate area. We do not store or share your precise coordinates — only a coarse area used for matching and distance display.
If you decline location access, Likeypoo uses your IP address to estimate your approximate city so we can show you matches in your area. IP-based geolocation is performed through a third-party service and is only used to derive an approximate location; we do not retain your raw IP address for tracking purposes.
Likeypoo also offers a Travel Mode. When you turn it on and pick a city from a curated list, other users in that city see you as local and you see posts from that city, until you turn Travel Mode off. While Travel Mode is active, we save a backup of your real approximate area (derived as described above) so it can be restored when you disable Travel Mode. You can enable or disable Travel Mode at any time from Settings.
You can change location permission at any time in your device's Settings app.
We use Firebase Authentication to send a one-time SMS code to verify that the phone number you provide belongs to you. Your phone number is stored on your account and is not shown publicly to other users.
If you allow notifications, Likeypoo uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send you updates about new matches, likes, and messages. A device token is stored on your account so we can deliver these notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings app.
In-app notification records (the list you see inside Likeypoo) are kept for 90 days and then automatically deleted.
Posts you share to your neighborhood feed include the text and photos you upload. Posts and their associated images are kept for 5 days, after which they are automatically deleted from our database and from Firebase Storage.
Messages you send in chat may contain text, photos, or short videos. Chat messages and their associated media are kept for 14 days, after which they are automatically deleted from our database and from Firebase Storage.
Likes and matches are kept while your account is active so the app can continue to show you who you've connected with. Deleting your account removes these along with the rest of your data.
If you report another user or piece of content, we record the report in our database and send an email alert to our moderation inbox so we can review it. The report includes the reason you provided, any details you added, your user ID, and the user ID of the person being reported. Reports are used solely for moderation purposes.
The email alert is delivered through a third-party email service (Resend). For more information, see Resend's Privacy Policy.
To help us identify and fix bugs, Likeypoo uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and basic diagnostic information when the app crashes or encounters an error. This includes the crash stack trace, your device model, operating system version, app version, and your user ID (so we can attribute crashes to a specific account when investigating). Crashlytics does not collect message contents, photos, or other personal information.
Account data, profile information, posts, matches, and messages are stored in Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, and Storage). Access is restricted by security rules so that other users can only see the parts of your profile you have chosen to make visible.
Likeypoo uses Firebase by Google for authentication, database, storage, push notifications, and crash reporting (Crashlytics), subject to Firebase's Privacy Policy. We use a third-party IP geolocation service to estimate approximate location when device location is unavailable. We use Resend to deliver moderation alert emails to our team when reports are submitted, subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.
Likeypoo is strictly for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we will remove it.
You can edit your profile, remove photos, or delete your account from within the app at any time. Deleting your account removes your profile, photos, and associated data from our active systems.
If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
